COMPETITION RULES
General
- An image may be entered twice provided it was not placed or commended when entered the first time
- The League Competition will consist of two sections, Prints and Digital Images. Both sections will be held on the same night.
- A maximum of three images can be entered per person for each section. This limit can be relaxed at the competition secretary's discretion.
- A maximum of 100 images will be shown on one night.
- Images will be ranked from 1 to 3 to permit the Competition Secretary to reduce the number of entries if it exceeds 100 or if the Competition Secretary deems it necessary.
- Images may be removed from one section only at the discretion of the Competition Secretary.
- The titles and ranking for the Digital Images entries must be given to the Competition Secretary by the week before the competition.
- Digital Images must be given to Competition Secretary the week before the competition and prints should wherever possible be given to the Competition Secretary also the week before the competition. Print entries will be accepted on the night before 7:50pm provided that the title and ranking has been given to the Competition Secretary by the Sunday before the competition.
- All images will be marked out of 20 The Judge will be asked to select the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended.
- Each section to be decided by the number of points a photographer obtains.
- The points will be added up for each round.
- The round with the least points will be dropped from the overall total.
- The photographer with the most points will be the winner.
- If for any round the number of entries is reduce from 5, then the average points for those entries scored, will be determined. The points for the round will be the average times 5.
- If more than one person has the same number of points then the winner will be the one who has won the most rounds etc.
- League Competition Winner will be the photographer who has the most points when the Digital Images and Prints section totals are added together.
Prints
- These can be Black and White or Colour.
- They will be mounted, titled, have the photographers name on them and be ranked 1 to 3.
- The maximum mount size is 16 by 20 inch (approx. 40 by 50cm).
- The titles and ranking for the print entries will be given to the Competition Secretary by the Sunday before the competition.
- First, second and third placed images can be placed on the web site, if a jpeg of at least 800 pixels on the longest side is supplied.
Digital Images
- These will be projected.
- These will be JPEG format with a maximum width of 1024 pixels and a maximum height of 768 pixels.
- The file name will include the photographers name and the title.
- The titles, ranking and the Digital Images must be given to the Competition Secretary the week before the competition.
- First, second and third placed images will normally be placed on the web site, unless requested otherwise.
League Competition Final
- All images finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd or Highly Commended will go thought to the League Competition Final at the end of the year.
- The Judge will be asked to select the Best Print, Best Digital Images and the best image.
