Vauxhall Chilterns Photographic Club
Who are we?
We are a small and friendly club, of about 25 members, who meet every Tuesday and many Thursdays. Among our members we have a wide range of abilities and interests, from novices to professionals. We have a lively mix of film and digital practitioners, who are always willing to help each other master new techniques. Or debate them. Our clubhouse is located in The Vauxhall Recreation Club in Gypsy Lane, Luton.
Activities
- Regular competitions, from Autumn to Spring. While these are informal in style, they are still keenly fought. In addition we place club entries in regional and national competitions.
- Technique instruction nights, where we cover lighting, metering, photo editing, mounting and so on. These are often followed by a photoshoot arranged to practice the material just explained.
- Frequent portrait sessions with local amateur models.
- Evenings out, to local sites of interest. These are usually arranged during the Summer months, for obvious reasons. Past locations have included Tring Locks, Whipsnade Zoo, and The Cat Survival Trust.
